Services we offer
The doctors at Belleville Urology Associates practice all areas of urology. The conditions we treat include:
- Kidney and bladder stones – These stones are actually hard mineral and crystalline material formed within the kidney or urinary tract. They are a frequent cause of blood in the urine and abdominal or groin pain.
- Prostate disorders – As men age, their prostate glands grow larger, which can lead to a variety of urinary problems, including infections, cancer and Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy (BPH), which can make urination difficult.
- Urinary tract infections – These common infections usually occur when bacteria enter through the urethra and multiply somewhere in the urinary tract, which includes the kidneys, ureters, bladder and uretha.
- Bladder control – Also known as incontinence, this refers to the ability to control the timing of urination.
- Urological cancers – This includes cancers of the prostate, bladder, kidney and testicles.
- Sexual dysfunction – Also known as impotence, erectile dysfunction is the inability to achieve or sustain an erection for satisfactory sexual activity.
- Male infertility – Infertility is the diminished ability or the inability to conceive and have offspring.
Specialties
While experienced in all areas of urology, the doctors at Belleville Urology Associates have specialty expertise in kidney stone management and urological cancers.
In addition to many standard treatments, we are pleased to offer our patients many of the most advanced, minimally invasive procedures available. The laparoscopic techniques we employ shorten the average recovery period, often dramatically, and are designed to return you to good health as quickly as possible.
Some of our more common treatments include:
- Laparoscopic Surgery – Compared to traditional surgery, which requires large incisions, we frequently use laparoscopic procedures that require tiny incisions of 1 cm or less. These minimally invasive procedures result in quicker recovery times, less pain and fewer complications.
- Percutaneous Lithotripsy – Used to treat large kidney stones, this procedure can be used on stones as big as a tangerine. It involves entering a kidney through a puncture in the back and using lasers to break up the stones.
- BPH Treatment – We provide minimally invasive treatments for enlarged prostate (Benign Prostatic Hypertrophy).
